How to Connect Claude to Google Ads and Meta Ads with MCP

You can connect Claude to Meta Ads and Google Ads through MCP servers. Meta has announced its own ads MCP server; see Meta's developer docs for availability and scope. Google's official google-ads-mcp only reads data in its current release. Lazy Ads gives Claude one endpoint for nine ad networks, Google writes included, for a fixed monthly fee, not a cut of your ad spend.

Your three options

If you only run Meta, Meta's own server may be all you need. If you only want to read Google reports, Google's server does that. If you want Claude to make changes in Google Ads, or to work across several networks with one connection, use Lazy Ads.

What Claude can do through Lazy Ads

• Bridge, every paid plan including BYOA (39 tools): list_platform_connections, list_live_platform_campaigns, import_platform_campaign, pause_resume_campaign, set_campaign_budget, add_ad_set_keywords (Google, Bing, Apple), update_ad, sync_all_campaign_performance, get_campaign_performance and more.
• Starter and up (53 tools): adds Lazy Ads AI, including build_ai_campaign, get_optimization_suggestions, generate_creative and the competitor tools.
• If the platform can't apply a change to a live ad, the change fails rather than only changing Lazy Ads.

Steps

1. Generate an API key

In the Lazy Ads dashboard open Settings → API and create a key. Any paid plan works: BYOA for the bridge, Starter or above for the full suite with Lazy Ads AI.

2. Add the server to your client

Point your MCP client at https://mcp.lazyads.ai/mcp over Streamable HTTP and send the key as Authorization: Bearer on every request. Copy the snippet for Claude Code, Cursor, Claude Desktop, Windsurf, VS Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Hermes, or Meta Muse.

Add --scope project to commit a .mcp.json for your team; keep the key in an env var with "Authorization: Bearer ${LAZY_ADS_API_KEY}". Run /mcp inside Claude Code to confirm the server is connected.

Claude Desktop only launches local (stdio) servers and its Connectors UI is OAuth-only, so the mcp-remote bridge forwards to the hosted endpoint. Keep the header value in env (no space around the colon) so Windows does not split the argument. Fully quit and reopen Claude Desktop after saving.

3. Verify and start prompting

Run tools/list (or ask "Which ad platforms am I connected to?"). BYOA sees the 39 bridge tools; Starter and above see all 53.

FAQ

Can Claude pause Google Ads campaigns?

Not through Google's official google-ads-mcp. Its current release only reads data and cannot change bids, pause campaigns or create assets. Through Lazy Ads, Claude can pause and resume Google campaigns, change budgets and add keywords.
